Mike Owens, President & Chief Consultant

Mike has over 30 years of risk, safety, and claims management experience encompassing project, OCIP and corporate program management. Mike holds the Certified Safety Professional designation with a construction specialty, a BBS in Risk Management and is the company founder.

Bryan Armour, RN Director of Nursing

Bryan has over 30 years experience in injury triage and occupational injury management ranging from military medic to corporate director of nursing responsibilities. Bryan manages all aspects of nursing injury management, call center operations, and onsite first aid center support.

Michael L. Owens, VP Risk Consultant

Mike brings 20 years of experience in the risk management and insurance industry. He spent 14 years as a consultant and insurance/surety broker strategizing and executing risk management, insurance, and surety programs for contractors, project owners and municipalities. Most recently, Mike served as Vice-President for Asa Carlton, Inc., a national general contractor and Cortex Business Solutions, a North American e-invoicing platform.

Tim Haney, Marketing Manager

Tim has over 18 years of experience in marketing, promotions and business development. He joined the company after many years of service with Yamaha Marine Group, where he was in charge of marketing and business development for the U.S. saltwater market.

Eddie Richardson, Jr., M.D., FAAFP

Dr. Eddie is the Chief Medical Officer for AXIS Risk Services, LLC. and is Medical Director & CEO of Lake Oconee Urgent & Primary Care Center in Eatonton, GA. He also serves as the Medical Director of AXIS Occupational Health, LLC. of Covington, GA and the Putnam General Hospitalist Program in Eatonton, GA. He is Chief of Staff at Putnam General Hospital as well. Dr. Eddie is an assistant professor at the Georgia Regency Health School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine. He also serves on the faculty for two nurse practitioner schools. Dr. Eddie was honored to serve in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Gulf War. Most recently, he was voted “Best Doctor in the Lake Country” and “2018 Family Physician of the Year” by the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.

Tina Shumake, Administrative Manager

Tina brings over 30 years of experience in corporate administration and business operations to the AXIS Risk Services team. Tina is essential in the overall day to day operations of the organization.
